Moolamattam: 22 km by a picturesque new road via Pullikanam, DC School, Edad and Elapally. It is just 9 km from Edad from where KSRTC runs buses direct to Kochi and private buses to Thodupuzha. The sleepy  valley of Moolamattam  came into prominence  when the power station of the giant Idukki Hydro Electric project was tucked under the Kudayathoor mountains overlooking the valley.Idukki arch dam is 40 km away.
