KOZHIMALA - 35 km east of Vagamon where tribals known as Mannans enthroned a new king for themselves. When king Thevan Rajamannan died early 2008, his son Ariyan Rajamannan was selected to be next in line. Hundreds of tribals in their traditional best attended the week-long change of guard ceremony. Kerala and Tripura remains the only states in India where tribals still have their own kings.
