PANCHALIMEDU - 18 km. Within Peruvanthanam Panchayat, Panchalimedu is believed to have been one of the abodes of Pancha Pandavas during their stay in the woods. As legend has it, Panchali bathed in the Panchalikulam, a pond with a perennial spring atop the hill 3500 ft above sea level. It is brimming with water even during the hottest season. Giant rocks upon rocks is a familiar sight in the area.
